Flight Instructor flight time limitations 
Just as airline pilots, Flight Instructors also have flight time limitations.
 
Every CFI operating under part 61 of the Federal Aviation Regulations is limited to 8 hours of flight training per 24 hour period. That amounts to a maximum of aproximately 240 hours of  flight training in a 30 day period.
 
Flight Instructors also have a limitation on the duration of thier Certified Flight Instructor certificate, which expires 24 calendar months from the month in which it was issued or renewed.
 
Ground Instructors are issued thier privilages under 14CFR Part 61and a ground instructor certificate is issued without a specific expiration date.

§ 61.19 Duration of pilot and instructor certificates.
(a) General. The holder of a certificate with an expiration date may not, after that date, exercise the privileges of that certificate.

§ 61.195 Flight instructor limitations and qualifications.
A person who holds a flight instructor certificate is subject to the following limitations:

(a) Hours of training. In any 24-consecutive-hour period, a flight instructor may not conduct more than 8 hours of flight training.
